2009 Plein Air Watercolor Workshop Materials List

2 brushes…. A medium/larger and a small….e.g. #8 or #10, & #0, 1 or 2
Watercolor paints….I suggest the following Daniel Smith colors, but you can substitute.
Hansa Yellow, New Gamboge, Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Pyrol Orange, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Quinacridone Rose
Watercolor paper….
4 sheets of 4x6 heavy water color paper
4 sheets of 7x10 heavy water color paper
(I suggest Arches #300 cold press. You can use 140#, but it will warp when wet)
Pencil and white eraser
Pilot Razor Point Pen - Black
Small folding palette with wells and mixing area….(if possible, squeeze your paint into the wells a couple of days before, so the paint has time to dry.)
Plastic water container with lid
Paper towels or tissue
Masking tape (I have some, so we can share….you won't need much)

I will have some supplies available for you to purchase
If you don't want to buy 7 tubes of watercolor paint (which would add up to about $56), I'll make up some travel palettes with a small amount of all our colors, and have them available to workshop participants for $12.
Package of Arches 300# paper, (8 sheets) - $8
Pilot Razor Point pen - $1.50
Brushes: #0 - $8, #8 - $12
Empty travel palette - $3
Please let me know if you would like to buy any of the supplies from me….as I'll need to order enough.

You might also want to bring……..
Sun hat, sun goop, bug goop, small pack, drinking water, folding chair or camp stool
If you plan to spend the night, camping equipment, food etc., jacket or sweater.
